As a library and archives professional, I am passionate about information access, management, and preservation. I thrive in challenging and curiosity-driven environments and love helping others understand the importance of my field.
In my role as Digital Publishing Librarian, I focus on preservation, access, and discoverability of scholarly works published through our institutional instances of Open Journal Systems, Omeka, and others. I work closely with campus and community partners to promote research visibility and digital publishing platforms.
While completing my Master’s of Science in Library Science degree at the University of North Texas, I learned many skills, including metadata entry, application, and standard compliance, information access services for diverse communities, information organization and operational systems management, and digital humanities tools and project management. I also completed a Graduate Certificate in Archival Management, qualifying me to both manage an archival space and appraise, arrange, and process archival collections.
I am passionate about academic libraries and special collections, archival studies, preservation and conservation issues, and the book as an object.
In my life outside of work, I love to hike and have lived in and travelled to many interesting places. My favorite place to live was Albuquerque, NM because there is so many great places to explore within a 5 hour drive. I come from a pie-family, and I love to cook and bake with my mom and my friends. I’m always up for an adventure – visit the Adventure page to see some of my best ones!
